HERMISTON, Ore. – Oct. 5, 2017 – Northwest Cancer Clinic is opening a new satellite office location in Hermiston, located at 1050 W. Elm Ave., Suite 150. The suite can be found in the Columbia Professional Plaza across from Good Shepard Hospital.
“We are pleased to announce the opening of our new satellite location in Hermiston,” says Brian Lawenda, M.D., Board Certified Radiation Oncologist with Northwest Cancer Clinic. “This will allow us to continue providing convenient, state-of-the-art cancer care to our patients where they live.”
Northwest Cancer Clinic offers state-of-the-art radiation therapy and integrative oncology. Integrative oncology combines three essential components to cancer care: conventional cancer treatments, complementary treatments (i.e. acupuncture) and lifestyle changes (i.e. stress reduction). Conventional cancer treatments include radiation therapy, a common form of cancer treatment used to treat various cancers. It uses special equipment to aim high doses of radiation at cancer cells. The goal of radiation therapy is to damage as many cancer cells as possible with minimal harm to nearby healthy tissue.
Dr. Lawenda is a Harvard-trained, Radiation Oncologist and Stanford/UCLA-trained medical acupuncturist. Dr. Lawenda has extensive training in integrative oncology, and he has received the "Top Doctor" award in radiation oncology by US News & World Report. He incorporates Integrative Oncology and medical acupuncture into his practice. He will start seeing patients at this new location on October 19.
Appointments may be scheduled for new patient consults, follow up care and integrative oncology. Radiation treatment will be performed at Northwest Cancer Clinic’s Kennewick, Washington location.
